Thank you for celebrating meals and milestones with us for 25 years!

Bluegrass Hospitality Group (BHG) co-founders, Brian McCarty and Bruce Drake, opened the first Malone’s steakhouse in 1998. Drake and McCarty met at L&N Seafood, a local restaurant where Drake managed and McCarty was a regular.  The two formed a friendship and combined their gifts to open Lexington’s first prime beef steakhouse, where meals and milestones have been celebrated for the last twenty-five years.

Malone’s has become a staple in Lexington with locations in the Lansdowne Shoppes, Hamburg, and Palomar Center. In 2021, Malone’s opened a fourth location in the Paddock Shops in Louisville.  Malone’s is known for hand-cut USDA Prime steaks, bottomless Lexingtonian salad, bread, and boursin-butter. It is a place where local friends, out-of-town visitors, and celebrities gather for lunch, dinner, and special occasions, where guests are treated like family and hospitality is served with every meal. If the walls could talk, there would be plenty of stories, as they are filled with autographed menus from celebrity guests who have “signed and dined” at Malone’s.

Serving others goes far beyond those visiting our restaurants. Our team is committed to giving back to the communities in which we serve, proudly supporting countless local, national, and charitable organizations.  “GiveBHG” was established over a decade ago, which allows charitable organizations to raise money through BHG gift card sales. The Ron Rager Family Fund, a 501c3 organization, was formed in 2014 to financially assist BHG team members experiencing a crisis. Each Thanksgiving, Malone’s closes to serve dinner to those in need of a warm meal and community. Our team has served meals and donated supplies to thousands of people going through hardships.  Malone’s is also a proud partner of many Kentucky-based businesses and organizations including Keeneland, UK Athletics, Bluegrass Airport, Lexington Opera House, local print publications and radio stations.

Our roots run deep through the bluegrass and there are many meals, memories, and milestones to celebrate after 25 years!
